God provided a home for me and my children to live comfortably. It was through prayer God directed me to the home and we got in it seamlessly. A few years later I had a strong desire to change my dining room and make it a home office. I didn’t know why but I kept feeling a strong push to make it happen. So one day I began the process of working towards the goal of redesigning the room into a home office. I took out a loan for the office, based on feedback concerning cost, from a designer. The process began and was completed with little issues or interruptions. Every step of the way I asked myself why, “What are you creating this office for”? I had no idea, so I assumed it was because I was in school and needed it for school, which I did, or because I was preparing for when I finished school, I could use it for business purposes, as I planned to start my own business after school. But I still kept pondering over it, I was still worried that I had jumped the gun, adding more expenses to my life that I really didn’t need to do.
It was not until I met the man that is to be my husband that I knew the answer, that the answer was revealed. Being a man of God he hosted regular online bible studies. One day he visited me and needed a place to hold his session, if he were to do so at my home. When he positioned himself in the chair with the picture that I had recently purchased as a backdrop, and I saw him online teaching his lesson, the truth was revealed. God was preparing me and my home for the future I knew nothing about. The strong desire placed in my heart to prepare the space was based on the calling on my life that had not been fully revealed at the time. Yes, the office was for me to study and complete my lessons. Yes it was for my current and future professional aspirations, but it is also for the future that I’m just beginning to understand. What I learned for myself is to pray about it, trust God, and do it anyway. Although I had not fully understood, I did it anyway, for such a time as this. My being obedient to the burning desire to create the office, prepared me for my future. Just “Do it anyway”.
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (Proverbs 16:3 – NIV)
